Reflection What I learnt personally I love the book's message. You should think more about the consequences of some actions. You can hurt people so quickly with the most stupid things, even if you dont realise it at the moment. So you should be carefully what you do and think about it twice always. Also I did learn, that drinking and partying doesn't solve problems, more likely it causes them as you can see in the example of Eric. I can't imgaine being responsive for someones death and how I would react. The book shows this quite good. Sometimes you just need to be more empathetic and try to feel what others feel. I also learnt, that you should never trust a person you dont know without questioning who he is (Inspector Goole). Don't believe everything you get told, start questioning it. Start questioning people. In conclusion, I can say that the book has shown a very sensitive side of life. 156 Words

Empathy Part 2 Diary entry Sheila Birling It's a shitty day. The day started out quite normally like any other day. But suddenly an incident changed my mood by 180 degrees. I was shopping at milwards with mom like many times. When I was looking at myself in the mirror I caught sight of a girl smiling at the assistant, and I was furious with her. I'd gone in to try something on. It didn't fit me, as expected. After that the girl had held the dress up like she was wearing it, and it just suited her. She smiled at the assistant again as if she wanted to say "Doesn't she look awful". That made me absolutely furious! I went to the manager and told him that she was very impertinent, and I told my mother that we will disband our account at Milwards. I hope she gets fired. She was so arrogant... I copied some sentences out of the book, where Sheila discribes her meeting with the girl. 163 Words

Characterization Part 2 A short letter to J.B. Priestley Dear Mr. Priestley I am just reading your book and I am stunned. When I started reading I wasn't that impressed. It was quite boring and nothing happened, but i kept reading because we had to read it for a school project. As I kept reading, the story and the characters got more exciting with the time. I was really impressed at the point where the inspector got in and Edna said "Please, sir, an inspector's called". That nearly gave me goosebumps. From that scene on the book got better and better. I love how the characters interact and how the whole story upon to this point where I'm writing keeps playing in only one single room. I really like the style of your writing. The dialogues are very thrilling and well written.  Please see this letter as a praise for your work. With this book you give such an important statement into the world. I really appriciate that. Keep up the good work. Gree...

Analysis Part 2 Style of the Autor's writing The Style how J.B. Priestley writes is very interesting. He works with only dialogues and skips the narrative style of writing completely. The sentences which J.B. Priestley uses are mostly quite short and not that complex. He is really good at building up an excitement. He tries to discribe the characters and the situation very detailed so you get caught in reading the dialogues very fast. Repetition or patterns I have noticed There had been some scenes that repeated themselves quite a bit. The scene I realised that repeated itself the most, was the Inspector showing the characters a photograph of the girl which commited suicide. All the characters always recognized her instantly and they all reacted similar. After that, a discussion began why the person is responsible. They all started very confident and ended up being a part of the impulse, that the girl had, to kill herself. And they felt responsible afterwards. 152 Word...

Analysis Words that I'm unsure of their meaning labour: Maybe it's someone who works in a factory, company, etc. The word is related to "cheap", that is the reason for my counseling.  Definition: Workmen on a job agitaded: In the text Sheila stares "agitaded" at Inspector Goole. Maybe the meaning is mean or something like this. Definition: To make someone excited and anxious  ( aufgeregt, aufgewühlt) startled: I guess it means "verwundert" or at least something like this, because thats Gerald's reaction as he hears that Eva Smith changed her name to Daisy Renton, followed by a "What?". Definition: To do something unexpected that surprises and sometimes worries a person: (erschrocken, bestürtzt) magistrate: Maybe when someone is magistrate then he thinks he is a better person. In the text Mrs. Birling discribes Mr. Birling as a Lord Mayor and a magistrate. Definition: A   person who has power to put the l...

Empathy Wich character do you identify most with? I can really identify with Gerald. He has his own opinion and doesn't cry around like Sheila and Eric all the time. He keeps calm and tries to solve the Problem and stay honest. Also, I can relate to his actions in the past. He saved the girl from getting harassed and gave her a home. He's truly a good guy like me. He's empathetic. In what ways do u wish a character will change? I hope Gerald is getting out of this innocent cause he really did his best. Also I wish Eric will get punished for his vices. I hope Mr. Birling comes to understand what he did and stops denying that it may be his fault. My wishes for Sheila are that she gets cooler and stops telling the whole truth. Also i hope she stops crying and get calm. Mrs. Birling is probably not having a big role in the future. I hope Edna will get more important in the story cause at the moment i dont see why she's even in the story. 168 Words
